LNST differentiates between primary and secondary slaves. Each device is
only allowed to have one primary slave, but there can be more secondary
slaves. Primary slaves are used to structure the devices into a
hierarchy of e.g. bridges. Secondary slaves are used to represent links
of other types. A bound device of a tunnel device falls into the latter
category.
