I installed the PAE kernel, it recognized the 4 GB
$ head -1 /proc/meminfo
MemTotal: 4013920 kB
However, I will run the non PAE kernel and post the dmesg log.

I see you have F12 and i686 that should be a PAE enabled kernel. You
should also see more memory than 3GB with a non PAE enabled kernel.
Could you post the full output of dmesg?
