Bug ID: 1184127
Summary: akmod-nvidia-340xx requires forced akmods rebuild
Product: Fedora
Version: 21
Component: kmod
Assignee: kmod-maint(a)lists.fedoraproject.org
Reporter: aferrazz(a)redhat.com
QA Contact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org

Description of problem: After installing the legacy akmod-nvidia-340xx package
from rpmfusion-nonfree-updates-testing for Fedora 21, all required kmods aren't
automatically created on reboot. Instead, akmods --force must be executed.
How reproducible: Always, as long as the machine being tested has a graphics
card compatible with the akmod-nvidia-340xx package.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install RPM Fusion free and nonfree repositories for Fedora 21.
2. Execute "yum install akmod-nvidia-340xx.x86_64
--enablerepo=rpmfusion-nonfree-updates-testing".
3. Reboot into a graphical session.
Actual results: Graphics drivers will not be loaded and the graphical login
will fail. If using Gnome 3, a "Oops! Something went wrong" error screen will
appear.
Expected results: A graphical login using newly-installed drivers should
succeed.
