What's up with that? According to koji, there's two weeks between these releases (why haven't they hit the rawhide repo yet?), that also means the issue's been around for a while now already.
Also: [red_trela@zalem ~]$ uname -r 3.15.0-0.rc5.git1.1.fc21.x86_64
Isn't that supposed to be newer than kernel*-3.15.0-0.rc4.git3.1.fc21.x86_64? Any explanation as to why it trying to upgrade to a older version?

Just ignore this post has ever happened, please. I shouldn't try/debug such stuff while listening to talks at conferences. ;)
The problem was not with the packages I was trying to update to but actually will some older ones. Neither the current one nor the oldest one...so not sure how this turned up as an issue all of a sudden. But removing kernel*-3.15.0-0.rc4.git3.1.fc21.x86_64 "fixed" the problem. No idea what caused it, though but as long as it doesn't even happen again, that's okay.
