I should add that for the "smidgen of marketing", the key target is "not
much bigger than the competition, and smaller if possible". Getting much
smaller than we are now probably isn't hugely important here, especially in
the kernel package. On the other hand, even with the current size as a
target, slimming existing packages lets us add more functionality within
that same space budget.
