Hi,
I have been suffering for a lag in the sound events for a few releases now which seemed to be getting progressively worse, up two/three seconds at times.
I thought I would give kde 4.9.90 a test so installed F18 RC and in the meantime updated to 4.9.95. Alas the problem was still there.
Over the past months I had been working to try and find a solution to this and scouring kde.bugs but never came up with an answer until now.
Today I read that Pulseaudio 3.0 had been released so I rebuilt the F19 RPM and success! the terrible delays have gone :-) still testing but it looks promising.
Maybe this will help others who have such bad delays in the sound events.

I've already put up pa-3.0 builds for f18. may end up doing f17 too sometime, we'll see.

I was not aware of that site, thanks for the info Rex,
Colin
Thanks also Rex for your work. I've upgraded my F18 pulseaudio pkgs. Seems ok for now, no more delay when playing sounds. Happy Christmas indeed.
