well, wwith the latest updates some things eems to be better, still lags but not that long, but krunner crashs randomly and given that the startmenu is just unusaebale without lancelot now breaking ALT+F2 is a joke
am i really the only person who loved lancelot because oyu did not need to went through the whole strcuture for starting 5 entries of the same submenu (like 5 vnc-connections to different testing windows or other testing virtual machines in the network)?
starting krunner manually works ometimes for a while (the need to keep the terminal open is still a joke - in case of lancelot not refreshing menues it was no problem for years to tpye "killall lancelot followed by ALT+F2 lancelot in a running session)

I like Lancelot and use it all the time.

have fun with F22 and the "improvements" of KDE5 throwing all away because every developer thinks he found the holy grail and users don't know nothing about how they have to use their computers....

Not bothering... I am transitioning to OpenSuse 13.2. At least until April 2017 I will have some quiet and hopefully by that time KDE 5 will become useable for me.
And to make a long story short. Way back when, when I expressed my reservations about kde-redhat merging into Fedora the kinda thing that we are experiencing now was my chief concern. What is happening in this community reflects the reason that kde-redhat was born in the first place. Everyone was unhappy with the way Redhat treated their KDE users. Rex brought back sanity by going independant. KDE then started working the way it was supposed to. I understand that the opportunity to merge provided all the infrastructure benefits that Fedora was able to provide. And I also understand a lack of manpower to manage multiple versions at the same time.
Simply put KDE 5 would never have made it out of kde-redhat/unstable. It would be there for everyone that enjoys testing as a hobby. And we would still be chugging along with KDE4. Me... well.... I have other things to do.

Great idea... transitioning is the important point though. :-\ I am talking about the RPM Fusion library... though IIRC SuSE never had issues with non-free software.

I've already successfully moved 3 of my 4 desktops. I just need to find storage to backup my data from my main desktop at home and I'm done. Everything that I need to work... works... I get all my plasmoids. I had a minor issue with xorg configuration and enabling vnc remote desktop and my nvidia drivers and that was resolved. The biggest issue I had was "bleeding edge" wine-stagging and a patching mechanism which was resolved. And the most incovenient thing that I will have to deal with is my email filters.

Reproducible very often here, just a matter of typing a few words in krunner. Didn't yet have the time to investigate properly, but backtrace is as follows:

Nope, still crashing, despite removing evering in there.

I don't know then, here's what may be a relevant bug you can add information to: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=347684 (valgrind requested)
Else, confirm you have kf5-baloo-5.14.0 first, there's been a lot of fixes since 5.13

Well, looks like it is the Baloo runner after all. Try disabling it in the KRunner settings. It won't do any good if you have Baloo indexing disabled anyway.

The Baloo runner is not a process, it is a plugin for KRunner (krunner_baloosearchrunner.so). You should be able to disable it in the KRunner settings, unless that UI went missing in Plasma 5 as well
only applications and commadnline are enbaled there

well, wwith the latest updates some things eems to be better, still lags but not that long, but krunner crashs randomly
Can you get any backtraces so we can help determine why it's crashing for you?
For me, krunner is (and generally always has been) reliably stable
looks like todays updates-testing push fixed it again
