After starting system this evening I see no display. Can't get
terminal using
alt-F* keys either. Only way to get in was via ssh. Below is the crash part of
Xorg.0.log.
After upgrade last night it kept working OK but didn't reboot then. Actaully
upgrade to 4.4 several days with several intervening boots, until today...
Not sure if this is KDE problem or just another radeon driver problem?

I had two problems:
1. X crashing caused by having "nomodeset" as a kernel parameter. It was
being setup by default so no idea why I now have to disable/remove it
from grub.conf. Not sure what it does. Main difference I see is that on
boot, with it removed I see a "teardrop" or "meatball" or something
that
eventually evolves into the fedora "f" inside it. With nomodeset
present, I see multiple overlapping bars at the bottom of the screen
that grow from left to right during boot.
2. With "nomodeset" removed, X runs but could only run gnome. KDE was
just the mouse cursor on a black screen. This is apparently fixed by the
soprano update today as mentioned in a later thread and bugzilla report.
Hopefully, thing will keep running OK. Before this problem, was seeing
lot of good stuff *working right* in KDE 4.4
