Long time Fedora user, since RH8.
I upgraded my main workstation from F21 to F22. F21 was totally stable and great. F22 has been nothing but trouble.
The main issue I have is session freezing that appears to happen right before the KDE (Plasma) desktop is displayed. I have this problem with both nVidia and nouveau drivers.
The kernel seems to run fine. I can ctrl alt F3 and start a console session and it runs fine. But I can't get a KDE (Plasma) session to run at all.
How do I troubleshoot this ?
sure that it freezes?
on my machine it takes half a minute to display the desktop after type in username and password - that's a machine booting the whole OS and a ton of services including several mysql-instances within 17 seconds and so i guess on a not so powerful machine it may appear like it's freezed
no idea what takes that laughable long, frankly it's even not much faster after logout when the machine has all software and configs cached within the 16 GB RAM.......

I'm pretty sure it freezes. I've left it over lunch and came back and there is no desktop.
I just got it working by doing a "killall -9 drkonqi" and then logging in again.
Now to get the nvidia drivers installed and test them. RPM Fusion doesn't have a fedora 23 repository, so I use rawhide ?

kde mailing list kde@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/kde New to KDE4? - get help from http://userbase.kde.org
FYI, the computer won't boot with the nvidia drivers from rawhide installed. I'm stuck with nouveau.
