If it's an external disk, just let udisks2 automatically manage it. Before
unplugging the device, "eject" it through the device manager widget
(plasmoid) in your system tray. (That tells udisks2 to unmount it.)
Actually, it's an internal disk - thanks for the reply. It is inserted
in a trayless enclosure that is mounted in the 5.25" slots of my PC. The
back of the enclosure has SATA connectors for each drive slot, which are
connected directly to the motherboard SATA controller.
