I just installed the lasted KDE Connect on my Samsung S7 which is running Android 8.0.0
Sent an SMS to the phone and the notice appeared on my desktop and I was able to reply
from the desktop. So, no issues.
But anyway, notification of all apps are shown under gnome, so they
are send out from Phone. Is there a debug / logging feature in kdeconnect ?
Not that I'm aware of....
But you can try using the kdeconnect-cli on the desktop to send an SMS and see if you get
an error message which makes sense.
You may also wish to unpair and pair the device again just for "fun"
