Last night my netbook was updated to 4.6. Now KAddressBook lists my addressbook and associated folders, but they are empty. I remember having the same problem when I ran a beta, and I know there was a solution, but I can't remember what it was. Can someone please remind me?
(I have checked the resource settings in systemsettings - they are fine.)

Hi Anne,
After an update on rawhide my contacts were gone too. I had to re-enter the contacts from a std.vcf file (in ~/.kde/share/apps/kabc) :-)

That is also set as a resource, and istn't visible. My contacts are definitely in the correct ~/.local/share/contacts - just not visible.

Okay, your directory is not empty, mine was. What do you have in
System Settings -> Personal Information -> Personal Contacts
and
System Settings -> Personal Information -> KDE Resourses -> Contacts?
Is "Akonadi Compatibility Resource" (type akonadi) checked?

I have std.vcf, type file, and akonadi-resource, type akonadi. I have checked that they point to the correct places.

You've akonadi and nepomuk (strigi is not necessary) enabled and running I suppose. Are there any (error) messages in ~/.xsession-errors with respect to these programs? Or in ~/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/mysql.err, or if exist .local/share/akonadi/akonadi_control.error / akonadiserver.error?

Rumor has it that rebuilding kdepim-4.4.x against 4.6 can help in some cases like this. I just put in some kdepim-4.4.10-1.fc14.1.kde46 builds in kde-testing to test the theory.

That should work, though depends on what repos you have enabled and/or what version of kdepim you currently have installed.
If you only have kde-testing, then just a 'yum update' would work too.

If you're downgrading from kdepim-4.5.94.1 (from kde-unstable), that's an option.

Mine was 4.4.9 from testing, so the upgrade was the right path. Thankfully my akonadi addressbook is back. Oddly enough the std.vcf one isn't, but I'll troubleshoot that in the morning. It's only a fallback for any old addresses I might need, so not urgent.
Thanks for the build.
