It's a QtWebEngine regression. QupZilla also shows similar behavior, see e.g. the start page, where only the rectangle in the top center is light gray, the rest comes up white for me.

Not sure if the new qt5-qtwebengine-5.9.0-2.fc26 in Koji has a fix for this, but after testing it I find Kmail does not start so I had to roll back:

This sounds like: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-60565 but that is supposed to be already fixed in the 5.9.0 release that I packaged. So this is very strange.

I'll go check that report later,

(By the way, Bodhi feedback and/or Bugzilla are better places to report such showstoppers than a mailing list thread that I may or may not happen to read in time.)

OK, I thought it was a good idea to check here before leaving neg karma incase it was unique to my setup.

I have been testing F27 with the latest kde packages, frameworks 5.38, applications 17.08.x (which had a shed load of fixes) especially in PIM and the issue has gone now. Maybe also related to QT as I see F27 runs qt-5.9.x now.

Slightly Off Topic, I'm also testing Martins Plasma-5.10.95 (5.11 beta) which also is working extremely well for me.

Thanks Colin, I intended to update to F27, and PIM is a must for me. I have previously used evolution and thunderbird and I have settled with kontact and associates, that is what best works for me. :-)

There was an annoying bug in the previous version where a selection with multiple messages that was moved to another mail folder would not be updated on the GUI.

Restarting akonadi would show the right behavior though. :-)

FYI, although I'm sure your aware, Nouveau/Mesa have a very long standing problem, but thanks to Kevin he is providing a patched Mesa so Kmail, QupZilla do not lock/crash.

Blissfully unaware. :-) This laptop has an hybrid setup with intel+nvidia, that works very well after Hans de Goede work for F25 (?).

For all the other machines nvidia is not my first selection. :-)

Sadly as recently commented in the bug report above, there are new upstream issues with Nouveau and the system locking solid. I did start to see it in F26.

A solution is I guess nVidia from RPMfusion but that is a last resort (for me)
