Posting here as a question before I bug this (first time back on Plasma in a long time).
F34 current Looks like plasma-5.22.3-1 (plasma-desktop-5.22.3-1.fc34.x86_64)
Issue: When looking to add items to the taskbar (similar to Cinnamon) I select the application that I want to add and right click.... Immediately plasmashell goes away. It does restart. Frustrating in that there has to be a way to move apps to the panels to have access to them without pinning but either I am missing it or doing something wrong.
From a terminal did the following: killall plasmashell plasmashell&
Take the above action and get this in the shell:
trying to show an empty dialog file:///usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.kickoff/contents/ui/LeaveButtons.qml:69:5: QML ToolBu tton: Binding loop detected for property "display" QFont::setPointSizeF: Point size <= 0 (0.000000), must be greater than 0 file:///usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.printmanager/contents/ui/PopupDialog.qml:91:17: Unabl e to assign [undefined] to QString
file:///usr/lib64/qt5/qml/org/kde/plasma/components/ModelContextMenu.qml: 38:1: QML ModelContextMenu: Accessible must be attached to an Item trying to show an empty dialog KCrash: Attempting to start /usr/bin/plasmashell KCrash: Application 'plasmashell' crashing... KCrash: Attempting to start /usr/libexec/drkonqi
Tried with an existing user that has had a live home dir for a long time and with a new user (only ever logged into Plasma)
Looking to see if I am missing something prior to putting in a bug. Any thoughts?
Matthew

Can you please elaborate on "I select the application that I want to add and right click"? From where did you select and right-click the application? I just tried to right click an application item from the standard application launcher menu (from the kickoff menu button on the left corner of the panel), and then selected 'add to panel (widget)' and that created an icon on the panel for the application. So things seem to work fine on my machine.
Thanks,

Syam.
That is exactly what I am trying to do. I click on the menu icon, then select Internet so that I can see Chrome or another application. Highlight the application and then right click. On the right click, there is a pause, then a blackscreen and plasmashell restarts.
This is a updated install that I installed with: sudo dnf groupinstall "KDE Plasma Workspaces"
Patrick - this is with X11 (Running with Nvidia drivers w/4 screens attached)

Fully updated F34. Running X11, with nVidia drivers via rpmfusion. 2 screens.
I do not get crashes doing the same thing.

Similar configuration here - except that there's only one screen. No issues with adding applications to the panel.

In the original note stated that it fails for new user also. I haven't tried since I pull updates yesterday. I am running 4 screens in an inverted T
If I run qt5ct (while running cinnamon) I get a warning that QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME environment variable is not set (not sure if that is specific to qt5ct or if it is an overall ENV that I am missing with Plasma. I will have to do a clean install with this or do a full Plasma rip and replace. Just stumped as I didn't think that I would have had any 'old' kde settings that could interfere.

Does dmesg show anything when the crash occurs?
