I used to have /etc/sysconfig/desktop, but recently read that it is

required, when using KDM, so I deleted it. I also uninstalled GDM, so that
only one DM is present, namely KDM.
Everything works fine, KDM starts, but when I log in, it always logs in to
Gnome. I have tried time and again to click KDE, login, reboot, etc, but the
default is always Gnome. I can only get KDE, if I expressly select it.
How do I make it the default, without recreating /etc/sysconfig/desktop?
It (gdm or kdm) is *supposed* to default to what you used for the most
recently login as the default for the next one.
I believe it's saved to ~/.dmrc or something like that.
/etc/sysconfig/desktop
is used only if the user has to prior login history or if "Default" is
chosen.
