There are two things that should be checked.
1) System Settings -> General -> Multimedia -> Backend
Xine is the backend on the top of the list.
2) System Settings -> Audio CDs -> Specify CD Device
To enter the correct CD device.
I have both xine and gstreamer installed, but xine is top of the list, so
presumably that's what is being used by kscd.
If you can think of any tests to see why mine works and yours doesn't, please
tell me.
