Thanks josé, that sorted me out.
Rex - I"m trying to report some crashes I get with nepomuk:
It appears that the some of the debuginfo is missing - although the
kdebase-workspace-debuginfo file is installed, there is no line information
for some of the files (eg nepomukfilewatch.so). Is there anything I can do
to get this information?
many thanks for your help

You need to add to your yum repo configuration the corresponding i686
repositories since kde-redhat repositories are not multilib.
