There is an icon in the Konqueror status bar where you can add a feed
Akregator. Akregator can open things in an external browser (such as
Konqueror) if you wish. And if you open an RSS feed's URL directly in
Konqueror, it shows up in an Akregator KPart (assuming you have matching
Konqueror and Akregator versions – it won't work with kdepim 5 as long as
Konqueror is not ported). That's as far as integration between Konqueror
and Akregator goes. They are separate applications after all.
Thanks very much, I'll try that.
I might add that I also failed to add RSS feeds to chrome,
after following advice to install a plugin.
What would be a winner for me would be if chromecast ran in konqueror,
as I am in a foreign country (Italy) far from home (Dublin).
But I suspect google has put an impossible hurdle in its software.
