After I applied the workaround that was recommended in the bug report
I believe that I got all the features. Nevertheless, I just tried your
suggestion with no changes to the additions that were already present
after the workaround.
Be that as it may, isn't that supposed to be the default setting now anyway?

You can try:
KMIX_PULSEAUDIO_DISABLE=1 kmix
to get access to the full set of hardware-level controls.
