you will not regret it when you do.
i have the "trackman marble", m/n t-ch11, p/n 804122-3000. no scroll
wheel.
it has been replaced with "trackman wheel", t-bb18;
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/429/166
there is also a 'cordless' model, t-ra18;
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/429/159
i have had the t-bb18 for over 25 years. in that time, i have had numerous
friends and several clients try it. they have bought them, both corded and
cordless. all are happy.
a couple friends bought the microsoft 'imitation'. no go. they returned
them and bought the logitech. ;)
do note that the 'thumb marble' does collect dust/crud, just like a
standard mouse marble. this can be cleaned by removing 'marble' and
cleaning the three small bearing point with a small firm bristle brush.
Thanks for all the info. A local shop sells only:
Logitech Trackman Marble Trackball (wired), ambidexterous, but no wheel $40
Logitech M570 Wireless Trackball Mouse (wireless), for right hand, I guess, with
wheel $65
I am right-handed, but have used the mouse in my left hand for almost 10 years to
keep my right free for a pen/pencil.
I could see what some other shops have.
so, have you tried a different mouse yet?
Yeah. I just plugged in the ps/2 mouse with the usb adaptor and there are no
problems. I really didn't believe that the other mouse was wearing out, but this is
the proof.
