There is a Qt based alternative to Klipper you might try called CopyQ. Here is a
write-up:
http://www.linux-magazine.com/Issues/2013/154/CopyQ
I didn't encounter any issues with Klipper on kde4. I previously used Klipper quite
a bit, but now I've switched to CopyQ... it has a few more bells and whistles.
Worth a shot, at least until whatever the issue you're experiencing with Klipper is
resolved; and who knows, you may also find you like it better.
It's also available in the Fedora repository: dnf install copyq
In F21 it uses Qt4, in F22 and onwards it uses Qt5.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Still would like to find out why the KDE
clipboard is so dysfunctional. Seems like it is missing copy and mouse events.
