Sure, that is what I have. But the VM can't obtain the Samsung phone because it is
"in use" by the
host. Even if I check the box, I get an error. The phone shows up in the Device
Notifier of the host
and I need it to be released and not show there. I have no problem with flash drives and
usb WiFi dongles.
Does it matter what mode the phone is in? As I'm sure you know, phones
can appear as either PTP (MTP) or storage devices, and behaviour may be
different in each case. Also, whether or not you have gvfs-mtp
installed (or configured) might make a difference one way or the other.
