I wonder if you guys are able to get usb access to your Android devices. I have
following mtp packages installed.
esmtp-1.2-10.fc28.x86_64
kf5-ksmtp-17.12.3-1.fc28.x86_64
libesmtp-1.0.6-14.fc28.x86_64
kio_mtp-0.75-17.20141221gitc418634.fc28.x86_64
libmtp-1.1.14-3.fc28.x86_64
I have 4 Android Devices. I normally use wireless transfers since what I mostly want
to transfer is auto-synced to a NAS in my home and I don't want to deal with cables.
But seeing as there was an objection to offering an alternate solution I took apart
my recharging station so I could use some cables. I found the following...
Samsung TabS2 running Android 7.0 works fine with MTP
Samsung Galaxy S6 also running 7.0 works fine with MTP
Samsung Tabs3 running Android 8.0 gets MTP protocol died unexpectedly
Samsung Galaxy S9+ also running 8.0 gets MTP protocol died unexpectedly
So, that is why I use the KDE connect fuse.sshfs method when I need to transfer
files. Just to satisfy someone's curiosity. I don't have to transfer files very
often due to the sync method I mentioned. When I do, it is normally just a few files
and "speed" hasn't been an issue for me. I also don't like trying to
find USB cables
and have found that some are better than others for data transfers.
Oh, as I typed the above I realized I wasn't using the Samsung USB-C cables on the
last 2 devices. I switched to using the Samsung cable but it still doesn't work.
But the error message is now.
Unknown error code 150
Unspecified error
