Are you sure you haven't some old packages hanging around. From KDE 4.4. beta
1 and up System Settings -> Akonadi no longer exists. See also [1]

I've attached the error log of akonadi with all the errors it shows right
after kde startup. I repeat, akonadi starts fine, if started manually, so
these errors can't be real or they may be the result of a race condition
during startup.
