F40 screen brightness - can't set to 0?

I recently upgraded my systems to F40, and it seems that I can no longer set the screen brightness all the way down to 0 using the keyboard control keys. Is there a way to restore the prior behavior?

Fedora 41 - KDE Spin, Fresh install, no sound from speakers

All; I just installed Fedora 41 - KDE on a Lenovo Legion 9, after I did the initial install, and then ran a dnf -y update, I had sound via the laptop speakers. Then I plugged in a monitor and the sound stopped and I have not been able to get it back, even with the monitor unplugged. I posted to the https://discussion.fedoraproject.org site but got zero replies. The laptop has an Nvidia card and a built in Raptor Lake Audio Controller: $ lspci | grep Audio 00:1f.3 Audio device: Intel Corporation Raptor Lake High Definition Audio Controller (rev 11) 01:00.1 Audio device: NVIDIA Corporation Device 22bb (rev a1) Thanks in advance for any help

Plasma 6 on RHEL 9.4

Hi Has anyone successfully installed KDE Plasma 6.x on RHEL 9 (or one of its clones)? On EPEL, I see plasma 5.27 packages. Stumbled across a copr repo: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/loise/kde-plasma-6/ which claims "contains everything to upgradea RHEL 9 based OS to the latest Qt6, KF6, Plasma6 and Gears6 and other KDE/Qt programs and features.". Has anyone used it? I need to create a customized installer for RHEL 9.4 and I would like to include the latest possible KDE Plasma in it. Thanks, Syam

F41 & nvidia 470xxx (questions, not rant!)

Hi, I'm (finally) trying to install these drivers given that the F41 notes talked about supporting DRM (better?) Yes, the drivers are old, but the latest version that nvidia shows is 470.256.02 released this June (2024), which is not very old, with some talk of supporting Wayland, if only through X. The latest I can find in rpmfusion is 470.128. Is this newer one somewhere in the Fedora universe? If so, how do I find and install it? If not, who do I send a message to to get it put in? Yes, I know the Nouveau drivers are pretty good, but I think I have a situation where they don't deliver (running virtual devices under Android Studio). No, I'm not wanting to go back to X11. install nerd fonts on fedora KDE ?

Hi, Have we any good way to install nerd fonts on kde ? or better than manual way [1] ? I'm moving to lazyvim and wasn't easy find and install nerd fonts to correct the icons ... Duplicate file managers?

Selecting "Show in folder" from the FireFox file download dialogue still opens a new instance of Krusader (my preferred file manager) but now also a Gnome Files instance, both focussed on my selected directory. This is new in F41, surely not just because I'm now using nVidia drivers not Nouveau? Is there some new setting somewhere that I should fiddle with? Mark

KDE Dropping Back to SDDM at Start up

Hi, I am randomly having an issue with KDE whereby having started it from SDDM (irrespective of whether it is using Wayland or Xorg) when KDE displays its desktop it drops back to the SDDM login screen. A subsequent start of KDE seems to then run it fine. What should I look at the next time it occurs to try to determine why this is occurring? regards, Steve
