multi-monitor switching is working
by Neal Becker
After a long time of not working, it seems after a recent update, switching
between home with laptop screen and work with external monitor is working
reasonably well (intel graphics).
I haven't tried hot-plugging when the laptop is awake.

new panel issue
by Neal Becker
It seems since a recent update, when apps are put in fullscreen they don't
respect the space for the panel, and appear in the background behind the
panel (which I have on the bottom).
Not sure if this only happens after switching monitors, sleep/wake, or
whatever - but has happened repeatedly. Minimizing/maximizing apps does not
fix it.

Kmail, pop3, spam...
by Peter G.
My ISP automatically tags suspected spam (often
incorrectly) and places the emails into a special
folder called 'junk'.
Years ago, all of these emails got downloaded along
with the rest of my mail and I used spamassassin
and/or filters to deal with it.
For some time (a couple of years?), these tagged
emails have no longer arrived with the rest of my
mail. I just presumed that I wasn't getting spam: I
must just be getting the hang of being very careful.
I was expecting a VERY important contract yesterday
that never showed up. This morning, I requested it
again. The sender said he sent it yesterday and I
should check my spam folder. I said that I don't have
one (Kmail doesn't come with a junk folder by
default), but I would check my ISP's webmail
interface. Sure enough, the document was there, but
tagged as spam and moved into the 'junk' folder.
Question: Why doesn't all of my mail get downloaded
into Kmail? Do I have to manually create a 'junk'
folder (ie., match the name of the folder of the ISP)
in order to get all of my mail? Or will spam (both
positive and false positive) always be skipped?
In the meantime, as I was so upset about the near loss
of the important document (and the thought of what
else might have vanished in the past couple of years),
I disabled the ISP's spam control altogether.

kmail: strange problem
by Timothy Murphy
I've noticed a strange problem with kmail over the last 2 months or so.
If I delete an email (with "d" or clicking on "Move to Trash")
it does not disappear.
Exiting from kmail and re-starting it does not solve the problem,
but logging out and in again does.
I'm running kmail with dovecot/postfix
(collecting email on my Fedora-23/KDE laptop from my home server).
I wonder if anyone else has seen this?
It doesn't always occur - about once a day, or one time in four.

Plymouth Breeze Theme
by Colin J Thomson
Hi,
I have been trying the new Plymouth theme that the KDE SIG team put on there
copr site. My initial test resulted in a blank screen.
Looking at the breeze.plymouth file it has this:
[script]
ImageDir=/lib/plymouth/themes/breeze
ScriptFile=/lib/plymouth/themes/breeze/breeze.script
Am I missing something or should the locations point to:
/usr/share/plymouth/themes/
Colin.

plasmoids on secondary monitor are laggy
by Sinan Haliyo
Folks, I've got a strange one, been going on few days - I've been tracking -testing and since today plasma-unstable on F23.
I've got a secondary monitor, rotated left, with a comic plasmoid on it. everything is laggy and slow on this one, the progress circle shows at ~.5 FpS, the tooltip takes 2 sec to come up, the hold-to-configure thingy more than that, hover-on buttons also. If I put it back on the primary monitor it works OK. Tested with a couple of others and they are similarly painful. I hoped that It would somehow come back with update to 5.6b, but it isn't happening :-)
Anybody seeing this on a similar setup ?
(On other news, in 5.6b panel on left border is broken again: maximized windows gets behind or in front, but not besides, whatever the settings.)
Best,
Sinan

mailto links
by Ed Greshko
When I click on a mailto link in chrome it brings up kmail and I want us thunderbrid. I
did what I've done in the past and used xdg-mime to change the setting.
But this is what I see.....
[egreshko@meimei ~]$ xdg-mime query default 'x-scheme-handler/mailto'
KMail2.desktop
[egreshko@meimei ~]$ xdg-mime default mozilla-thunderbird.desktop 'x-scheme-handler/mailto'
[egreshko@meimei ~]$ xdg-mime query default 'x-scheme-handler/mailto'
KMail2.desktop
[egreshko@meimei ~]$ cat /home/egreshko/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list
[Default Applications]
text/html=google-chrome.desktop;
x-scheme-handler/http=google-chrome.desktop;
x-scheme-handler/https=google-chrome.desktop;
x-scheme-handler/mailto=mozilla-thunderbird.desktop
Is there something else that needs doing?

qtbase: enable journald logging (for f24)?
by Rex Dieter
qt5-qtbase has build options:
+ -no-journald ........ Do not send logging output to journald.
-journald ........... Send logging output to journald.
and I'm considering enabling the -journald option for f24, and concerns or
objections?
