qtcurve packaging refresh

Looks like qtcurve development has left our current packaging behind a bit, with newer/active upstream at github/projects.kde.org , thanks to marcdeop on irc clue'ing me in. So I took a stab at unified packaging, https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1273927 package review and feedback welcome. (The first iteration doesn't include qt5 support yet, I couldn't get it to build right on my oldish fedora box @ dayjob, we can easily add it later). -- Rex

KDE5/Konsole and tab-labels

see attached screenshot what cool idea to cut the left part when more tabs are open so that you see just the domain and the user but no longer the machine name - don't get me wrong but what cluttered mind developers appearently have to implement such a nonsense wit the next open tab the hostname completly is cutted

Adding apps to panel

I'm running Fedora-23beta/KDE, and I am unable to add apps to my panel. This used to be possible by right-clicking on the K-button, going to Alternatives, and switching to "A launcher based on cascading ...". initial size of konsole window

Fedora 22 w/Plasma 5, all patches applied. How do I set the size of the konsole window to be 80x25 when it opens, regardless of how the last window was resized before closing? In my current session profile under Terminal Size, I have Columns: 80 and Rows: 25; in the main Konsole configuration (Settings/Configure konsole), I have deselected "Use current window size on next startup". But a new window opens at 88x34. Is this setting just being ignored? -- Glenn Holmer (Linux registered user #16682) "After the vintage season came the aftermath -- and Cenbe."

Increasing icon size in panel launcher / taskbar

Hi This morning's surprise after having to restart my system because nouveau had locked up under my locked plasma 5 session (F22) with gazillions of messages like: kernel: nouveau E[ PFIFO][0000:01:00.0] PBDMA0: ACQUIRE kernel: nouveau E[ PFIFO][0000:01:00.0] PBDMA0: ch 2 [Xorg[978]] subc 0 mthd 0x001c data 0x00001004 (the nouveau lockups are no longer a surprise, unfortunately) is that the icons of the launchers in my panel and task bar entries for running programs have become very small. I've been though many of the obvious menus in system settings changing plausible setting, applying and logging out and in again but the icons don't change size! Can anyone advise how to increase the size of these icons please. Thanks Roderick

KDE5: konsole

slowly i really have enough after in KDE4 i enabled some workaround which made things better for https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1159785 and https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=188528 the only improvement of KDE5 is that most settings and workarounds are not migrated while SIX YEARS old crap bugs still exists and frankly before one of the updates after my dist-upgrade it was even not possible to change the tab order in konsole WTF is the option from https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=188528#c163 now?

The KDE Splash Progress Bar...

After providing the login name and password, the splash screen replete with its progress bar appears. If one watches it carefully, one sees that it is segmented into six stages: the first happens almost instantly, the next two almost as one, then the fourth and, after a longer pause, the fifth, and... Sometimes the sixth appears, sometimes it does not. In both cases, the KDE desktop appears. The question: Has everything loaded okay, even though the sixth stage was never reached before the appearance of the desktop? (Note: this happens on both of my computers, but a few daily upgrades ago, it did not, ie., the sixth stage did appear.)

kernel-debug in KDE install

Just did a KDE kickstart install of F23_TC11 and I ended up with kernel-debug-core/modules installed due to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1192189 and kde-desktop bringing in plasma-nm-l2tp by default (because it requires xl2tpd via NetworkManager-l2tp). Some possible quick fixes seem to be: - Do not have plasma-nm-l2tp in kde-desktop. Mouse lag and ksmserver

It's hard to know whether these two things are connected, but I'll mention them together since they seem to have been correlated at least once: I often find that after being logged into Plasma session for a few days, the cursor starts to lag noticeably behind my wireless (Bluetooth) mouse movement, to the extent that the mouse becomes quite difficult to use. It's hard to determine just what causes this. At one point I suspected either Chrome or Firefox, perhaps because some Web page was very loaded with Javascript, but last time I killed both of them and it seemed to make no difference. I have a second mouse (MS wireless connected via a USB dongle) and its behaviour is always entirely normal, i.e. no lag. I've tried using Gnome but haven't managed to reproduce this behaviour, though I also haven't tried very hard. When this problem cropped up just now, after several days of not appearing, I checked "top" and found ksmserver taking 13% of CPU, far above anything else. This is an 8-core Intel i7 with 16GB of RAM (and root on an SSD). I logged out of the session and logged into a console. ksmserver CPU usage went up to 100% and stayed there. I rebooted and everything went back to normal, i.e. no mouse lag and ksmserver taking no appreciable CPU time. Any ideas would be welcome. poc
