Personal dictionary for speller
by Tomas Straupis
Hello
Where should the file with personal words be stored by default? (I
would like to review that list periodically and submit missing words
to corresponding spelling package buglist).
Currently I add a new word by say pressing „Add to dictionary“ in KMail.
The only place I can find this word later using grep is in .xsession-errors:
QSpellEnhantDict::addToPersonal: word = 'mynewword'
(lines above and below this one are about [akonadiserver] so I guess
irrelevant)
Thank you
P.S. Fedora14, KDE 4.5.5.

koffice-2.3.2-1.fc13 in kde-testing, kword work for you?
by Rex Dieter
I've been trying this out on a couple of f13 boxes, and kword, at least,
seems not in good shape. I cannot create any new documents (just end up
with a blank window).
Can anyone else confirm this?
(Any other testing feedback wrt koffice-2.3.2 would be appreciated).

bug in battery monitor
by Neal Becker
This is the 2nd time I've experienced this problem, since updating to 4.6. When
woken from suspend, the screen is dim. battery monitor plasma says it's set to
performance, but shows brightness all the way down. I can move the slider to
the right, but it just bounces back.
Logout/login fixes it.

Shrunken fonts after FC15-mass rebuild
by Martin Kho
Hi,
After the FC15-mass rebuild all fonts (title bars, menus, etc.) in KDE apps
look rather small. Is anyone else seeing this? Is it intended, caused by a new
font/theme?
Btw. Because the defaults are a little too small for me I've changed the sizes
from 10 to 11.
Thanks,
Martin Kho

Unresponsive plasma panel
by Roderick Johnstone
Hi
Sorry, rather a long complicated email but I need some help debugging a
plasma panel issue, please.
Sometimes the panel on my desktop kde session gets into a state where,
upon login, its not quite maximized widthwise, has a flashing white
block at the right hand end and is very unresponsive. At this point,
plasma-desktop and kwin are taking 20% cpu each and X is taking 60%.
The way I fix this (temporarily) is to kill plasma-desktop and remove
.kde/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc and restart plasma-desktop.
This is happening with kde 4.5.5 on Fedora 14 x86_64. Normally I use a
customised system plasma-desktop-appletsrc which adds a few launcher
buttons and a clock, but the same thing happens without my customization.
I think the problem is related to running a kde nx session from my
laptop. When that session terminates it seems to rewrite
.kde/share/config/plasma-desktop-appletsrc and its that file that causes
a problem next time I log in on the desktop. That session runs at 1274x734
which is just a bit smaller in the X-dimension than the 1280x1024 screen
that the the plasma panel occupies on my desktop (actually that is a
dual screen setup but, of course, the panel only occupies once screen.
There is plausibly an 8-pixel gap between the end of the plasma panel
and the edge of the screen.
I'd really like to try to pin down whats going on, but for a start, the
format of the plasma-desktop-appletsrc is not obvious. Is that
documented anywhere? If I could understand that file, maybe I could see
whats causing the problem.
Oh, and I just determined it doesnt happen if I switch off desktop effects.
Thanks for an pointers or help anyone might be able to offer in sorting
this out.
This is, I think, essentially the same problem that my colleague
reported at: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=258662

topics to discuss:
* F15 alpha
* akonadi: switch to sqlite default backend?
* 1G image: keep (yes/no)? If yes, what to add (there's room left).
recent bugs:
* qt-devel should require qt-sqlite
= Summary =
F15 alpha
* ACTION: rdieter to poke rel-eng wrt kde image, and 2 blocker bugs
* jreznik submitted lovelock-kde-theme pkg for review
* f15 default fonts, seem to be using abbattis-cantarell now on kde
** ACTION: jsmith to start -devel thread on default font topic
akonadi: switch to sqlite default backend?
* AGREED: stick with akonadi mysql backend default
** migration issues
** mysql will be needed for KDE PIM 4.6 as it's faster for bigger data set
qt-devel should require qt-sqlite, bug #677418
* AGREED: will fold qt-sqlite into main qt pkg to fix bug #677418 (and hopefully
all future variants)
1G image: keep (yes/no)? If yes, what to add (there's room left)'''
* no conclussion here
** is it worth problems to have two very similar kickstarts?
** we have a space now on default one
** we are not able to fill 1G now
* rdieter proposal: as long as resources required to produce it aren't a
problem, I'd say keep the .ks's around and daily builds

Weekly spins IRC meeting
by Christoph Wickert
Hi fellow spin maintainers.
in order to revive the spins SIG, we should start the regular IRC
meetings again, say weekly or biweekly. In order to find a slot that
fits all (most) of us, I have set up a poll at
http://www.doodle.com/tpi6es8z8chfrkgn
Please add yourself.
Thanks,

Middle mouse button
by Emmett Culley
How do I turn off the paste function when pressing the middle mouse button. I've tried turning it off in system settings, but that doesn't change anything.
I can turn off the middle button via xinput, but that isn't sticky and besides the point. Why can't I change the middle muse button functionality in KDE?
