dolphin video preview for unknown video types
by Richard Z
Hi,
in F12 I am trying to teach dolphin to generate thumbnail previews for "*.mts"
(Panasonic AVHCD lite). Mplayer and many other players play it perfectly so
I assume adding it to the list of known formats somewhere should do the trick
- but can not find the right configuration file or checkbox to click.
Thanks for any hints

kde-4.5.3 seems really rough.
by linux guy
kde-4.5.3 seems really rough.
- highlighting a block of text with the mouse cursor usually results in
half of it being highlighted. The start point seems to move.
- windows don't move nicely between monitors on a dual monitor setup.
It generally takes several tries to get it moved.
- windows are constantly automatically resizing when you only want to
move them
- konqueror is way less stable. Gives an error on every new page on the
forums at www.dpreview.com , for example.
F13, fully up to date with kde-testing enabled.
$ yum list kdebase
Installed Packages

kcalc number pad 2 is not working
by Christoph Kaulich
Hi everyone,
I have a Fedora 13 and Fedora 14 computer with the latest KDE 4.5.3 on it. In
kcalc I can't use the '2' on the keyboard to enter numbers, it only works by
mouse.
Can someone reproduce this, or does someone know where to fix?
Thanks

discovery regarding Spambayes and KMail
by Claude Jones
I've been running Spambayes since the early days when you had to
set it up as a proxy server and do a lot of configuration through
its web interface. A few versions back, Spambayes appeared to
start to be included in the standard packages of a Fedora-KDE
install (I could have details wrong here - but, I never manually
selected it in fresh installs - maybe it's a KMail dependency now
- I don't know); but, the standard install just sets it up as a
filter without setting up the proxy server interface or the access
to the configuration; long-time Spambayes users know about database
bloat and decreasing efficacy of the filter, and the standard first
trick was to simply delete the databases and restart training. The
database is now down to one, is located at the root of your home
folder and is called ".hammie.db" - deleting this file will cause
it to be recreated the next time you run Kontact/Kmail with no
data - In less than an hour yesterday after only minimally
training on less than 50 messages, I went from dozens of spam
messages an hour not being classified as such, down to a very few -
overnight, my inbox only had about seven spams in it after 10+
hours, and that's after a very little training
If you've never configured Spambayes with KMail, it's worth a shot;
you'll find the anti-spam wizard in the 'Tools' menu

kde-4.5.3 in kde-testing (f13,f14)
by Rex Dieter
Petrus beat me to it... :)
but fyi, our initial batch of kde-4.5.3 packages (sans kde-l10n still
working on that) are now in kde-testing (f13, f14 only for now,
hopefully will find time to do f12 in the near future).
So far so good, test test test. If we experience no badness in the next
day or 2, we'll get these queue'd for updates-testing.

Kajongg?
by Chris Smart
Hi all,
I seem to recall that new game Kajongg (not to be confused with
Kmahjongg) was merged into KDE4 at some point, but I cannot see it in
Fedora (apart from docs /usr/share/doc/HTML/en/kajongg). I've
downloaded the kdegames source RPM and Kajongg is included in the
tarball, but the spec file doesn't appear to build it.
There's probably a good reason that it's not included - maybe it's not
stable, maybe it doesn't have enough translations, or maybe no-one
else noticed it :-) I thought I'd run it past the KDE list first, to
get some thoughts.
Thanks,
-c
