I read an article on Linux Magazine that praises this program,
goldendict, as a KDE alternative to stardict.
Here is their website: http://goldendict.berlios.de.
Would this ever enter fedora or fedora via kde-redhat?
I know how to unpack the tarball and compile it, but the program
is for 32-bit and I use 64-bit. It might be easy to figure out
which libraries I need to install, but simply continuing to use
stardict is easier, until an rpm comes along.
after a upgrade from Fedora 10 to 11 my openGL no longer works as
expected. The windows flashes and disapears, Icons are missing,
decoration borders are missing, buttons shows up and disapears. With
F10 everything works as expected. I have tried xrender and it works,
but it is slower as openGL. Currently I have disabled the openGL

since my upgrade to F11 the powersave function of my monitor in kdm is
no longer triggered. According to my Xorg.log dpms is enabled. I have
not found any option in kdm config file to enable or disable dpms. Are
there any hints to reenable powersave for kdm?
After the latest Rawhide updates from today, I don't get a command prompt in
Konsole. I've tried to remove ~/.kde, ~/.config and ~/.local, but this didn't
help. Anyone else have seen this? Is there something else I can do?

Does anyone know why and how I can stop yumex from running when I log off from my session?

I have just noticed there is no Akonadi settings in System Settings >
Is there a manual way to bring up the config gui as I use Akonadi for my
address books for testing purposes :)
I'll go check kde.bugs later on.

I updated to KDE 4.3 RC1 from KDE 4.2.95 and I don't find how to switch

So is Fedora KDE packaged without Air Theme?, I understand no changing
the defaults, but Air could be included as another option?, not as

since I've upgraded from F10 to F11, I'm getting corrupted graphics in
many kde apps. See
for an example. Usually, the desktop background is displayed in
toolbars instead of the regular toolbar background, but sometimes this
also happens in other places. If I resize the window or mouse-over the
affected parts of the window, the problem fixes itself, but it will
reappear soon. I've only seen this with kde apps and not with others
like firefox. Since F10 and F11 use the same qt version I suspect the
intel drivel for my venerable i830 graphics chipset is at fault. Does
anybody on this list use F11 with kde on a machine with an (old) intel
chipset with or without the same problems that I'm seeing? I haven't
had the time to play around with any of the different acceleration
options of the new intel driver, I'll check that later.
I remember in older versions of Fedora, scanning via SANE with KDE was
very easy, there was a dedicated SANE frontend, right now there seems
to be none. If either of you maintainers have the available cycles,
please take a look at Skanlite it's the KDE4 SANE frontend listed
on the SANE website. I'll be checking as to if there is something
better for this task.
