Pushing initial 4.1.96 builds to kde-redhat/unstable (F-10) repos now.
My initial update tests are mixed (my session seems not to save correctly,
and my initial upgraded plasma desktop was borked, ymmv). This is why I
pushed to unstable first instead of testing. If it works better for others
and when rc1 is officially released, I'll be closer to putting these in
Is there any simple way to use knode
with different news servers in different locations
in such a way that the record of articles seen
is kept in sync?
I know I could try to use the same free news server,
eg motzarella, at both locations,
but I haven't found this satisfactory in practice.
So what I would like to do (actually, what I do do)
is use my two ISPs news servers, one at each location.
But the problem (not a serious one)
is that the records of articles read from the two servers
are not kept in sync.

My first impressions are not that good. After the upgrade my KDE plasma
crashed right away and the only thing I could do was remove my .kde
profile directory (I could not pin-point the cause of this). He but
thats the game using beta software :)
But right now it runs smooth (with new NVIDIA drivers) but sometimes
plasma crashes for whatever reason.
Good job anyways!
Nice job! Haven't had any major problems so far and updating went fine.
Did anyone else notice that the Pager no longer displays desktop names /
numbers or is it just me? :)
With kde 4.1.96 + nvidia-180.22, it looks like artifacts I've experienced are
_finally_ gone. In the past, if desktop effects were on, there were annoying
lags when things were displayed before updating. For example, when looking at
a menu, it would often momentarily display some random image.
I seem to remember an ability to use the Kontact interface to read newsgroups.
I've found Knode but it wants to open its own window - is it possible to
integrate it into Kontact?
