An issue where the "secureValidation" property is not passed correctly when
creating a KeyInfo from a KeyInfoReference element. This allows an attacker to
abuse an XPath Transform to extract any local .xml files in a RetrievalMethod
element.

jsoup is a Java library for working with HTML. Those using jsoup versions prior
to 1.14.2 to parse untrusted HTML or XML may be vulnerable to DOS attacks. If
the parser is run on user supplied input, an attacker may supply content that
causes the parser to get stuck (loop indefinitely until cancelled), to complete
more slowly than usual, or to throw an unexpected exception. This effect may
support a denial of service attack. The issue is patched in version 1.14.2.
There are a few available workarounds. Users may rate limit input parsing,
limit the size of inputs based on system resources, and/or implement thread
watchdogs to cap and timeout parse runtimes.

Apache Log4j2 versions 2.0-alpha1 through 2.16.0 did not protect from
uncontrolled recursion from self-referential lookups. When the logging
configuration uses a non-default Pattern Layout with a Context Lookup (for
example, $${ctx:loginId}), attackers with control over Thread Context Map (MDC)
input data can craft malicious input data that contains a recursive lookup,
resulting in a StackOverflowError that will terminate the process. This is also
known as a DOS (Denial of Service) attack.
This issue is being tracked as LOG4J2-3230
Mitigation:
Implement one of the following mitigation techniques:
* Java 8 (or later) users should upgrade to release 2.17.0.
Alternatively, this can be mitigated in configuration:
* In PatternLayout in the logging configuration, replace Context Lookups like
${ctx:loginId} or $${ctx:loginId} with Thread Context Map patterns (%X, %mdc,
or %MDC).
* Otherwise, in the configuration, remove references to Context Lookups like
${ctx:loginId} or $${ctx:loginId} where they originate from sources external to
the application such as HTTP headers or user input.
Note that only the log4j-core JAR file is impacted by this vulnerability.
Applications using only the log4j-api JAR file without the log4j-core JAR file
are not impacted by this vulnerability.

A flaw was found in the Java logging library Apache Log4j in version 1.x . This
allows a remote attacker to execute code on the server if the deployed
application is configured to use JMSAppender.
In 1.x you will find that there are two places where lookups are done - that is
JMSAppender.java:207 and JMSAppender.java:222 - if you set TopicBindingName or
TopicConnectionFactoryBindingName to something that JNDI can handle - for
example "ldap://host:port/a" JNDI will do exactly the same thing it does for
2.x - so 1.x is vulnerable, just attack vector is "safer" as it depends on
configuration rather than user input

It was found that the fix to address CVE-2021-44228 in Apache Log4j 2.15.0 was
incomplete in certain non-default configurations. This could allows attackers
with control over Thread Context Map (MDC) input data when the logging
configuration uses a non-default Pattern Layout with either a Context Lookup
(for example, $${ctx:loginId}) or a Thread Context Map pattern (%X, %mdc, or
%MDC) to craft malicious input data using a JNDI Lookup pattern resulting in a
denial of service (DOS) attack. Log4j 2.15.0 restricts JNDI LDAP lookups to
localhost by default. Note that previous mitigations involving configuration
such as to set the system property `log4j2.noFormatMsgLookup` to `true` do NOT
mitigate this specific vulnerability.
Log4j 2.16.0 fixes this issue by removing support for message lookup patterns
and disabling JNDI functionality by default.
This issue can be mitigated in prior releases (<2.16.0) by removing the
JndiLookup class from the classpath (example: zip -q -d log4j-core-*.jar
org/apache/logging/log4j/core/lookup/JndiLookup.class).

Netty is an open-source, asynchronous event-driven network application
framework. The package `io.netty:netty-codec-http` prior to version
4.1.77.Final contains an insufficient fix for CVE-2021-21290. When Netty's
multipart decoders are used local information disclosure can occur via the
local system temporary directory if temporary storing uploads on the disk is
enabled. This only impacts applications running on Java version 6 and lower.
Additionally, this vulnerability impacts code running on Unix-like systems, and
very old versions of Mac OSX and Windows as they all share the system temporary
directory between all users. Version 4.1.77.Final contains a patch for this
vulnerability. As a workaround, specify one's own `java.io.tmpdir` when
starting the JVM or use DefaultHttpDataFactory.setBaseDir(...) to set the
directory to something that is only readable by the current user.

Netty is an asynchronous event-driven network application framework for rapid
development of maintainable high performance protocol servers & clients. Netty
prior to version 4.1.7.1.Final skips control chars when they are present at the
beginning / end of the header name. It should instead fail fast as these are
not allowed by the spec and could lead to HTTP request smuggling. Failing to do
the validation might cause netty to "sanitize" header names before it forward
these to another remote system when used as proxy. This remote system can't see
the invalid usage anymore, and therefore does not do the validation itself.
Users should upgrade to version 4.1.7.1.Final to receive a patch.

In Apache Commons IO before 2.7, When invoking the method
FileNameUtils.normalize with an improper input string, like
"//../foo", or "\\..\foo", the result would be the same value, thus
possibly providing access to files in the parent directory, but not
further above (thus "limited" path traversal), if the calling code
would use the result to construct a path value.
