My point was that it just seemed sad that Java 7 support is being
dropped because
there is publicly announced EOL for it and thus gets removed upfront vs
when a component just stops getting maintained then it stays in Fedora
(unmaintained).
Thats at least what I got from the thread here.
I would just like to be able to say using Fedora is a good option for
Java developers,
and if the fedora community do not have resources to maintain OpenJDK 7
fixes should
not "scorn" users trying to use Oracle JDK 7 binaries since that is
basically the only
practical option left for them.
That is just my opinion :)

I understand. As I said above, if someone is willing to accept the
responsibility for doing timely security backports and maintenance,
they
are welcome to do so :)
