Tomcat home should be /usr/share/tomcat. This will allow you to move one step further but it will stop after that trying to read tomcat-users.xml which is not world readable on purpose and I have no idea what should be done in this case.
Hmm, I will file a bug then and maybe have a poke around to see if Eclipse really *needs* to read users.xml.
P.S. Welcome back Mat :)
Thanks :-) I didn't mean to drop off the radar as much as I did. A lot of life happened this past year...

Hi all,
I'm wondering how Eclipse WTP in F17 detects Tomcat installations, having yum install'd Tomcat 7. When I try to add a new Apache Tomcat 7.0 server via "Ctrl-3, Define a new server" and I enter "/usr/share/java/tomcat" for the Tomcat installation directory, the dialog shows an error that an "Unknown version of Tomcat was specified" and I cannot complete the wizard.
How do I add a Tomcat 7 server to Fedora Eclipse? Do I have the wrong directory?
