what exactly is Fedora IoT
Because it does not yet exist, Fedore IoT is an objective rather than a
product, with the purpose to support IoT activity: typically inexpensive
computers that provide data acquisition and control functions for
hardware that does not possess native Internet connection capability.
How does that compare to the Fedora arm images already in place?
These images are current Fedora products (Server, Workstation, etc.)
built for the ARM architecture. Fedora IoT will be a new product,
optimized for use in the IoT application area. I expect Fedora IoT will
be built for both ARM and Intel architectures.
what is the difference between a Fedora edition and a Spin?
A Fedora edition is the principal Fedora product, and receives the
greatest investment of development and test resources. A Spin is a
derivative product, produced by a Special Interest Group, that caters to
some subset of Fedora users. Spin availability is not the same as
Fedora's release schedule, and often lags a Fedora release.
An even-more-derivative product is a Fedora Remix (e.g. Fedberry), which
is even less correlated to the Fedora release schedule and may not have a
related, formal SIG.
