Two Matrix Questions
by Matthew Miller
Hi Infrastructure folks! We're getting ready to launch our Matrix server. As
part of that, I have two things I'd like your input on.
1. I find the bot reports in #fedora-admin and other places to be
overwhelming. Do people find these useful at all? If there is a reason to
keep them, could they be moved to a new room like #fedora-admin-bot or
something? I think this will help keep it a friendly space for
non-bot users of the room.
2. We have the ability to group channels into Spaces. We've aready got a
"Teams" space, but for some groups it seems like it might be useful to
go further. Would it be useful to create an "Infra" subspace, and if so,
what channels should go under this?

Freeze Break Request: debugging sssd on ipsilon
by Kevin Fenzi
Greetings everyone.
We have been having a sporadic issue for a while now where sssd on
ipsilon01 and/or ipsilon02 goes into a error state and starts rejecting
everyone's logins. ;( See https://fedorastatus.org and the ticket on
this. It's really quite irritating.
We have raised a ticket with sssd upstream and they need more
information to find the bug. Toward that end, they have made a build of
sssd that has debugging particular to this failure in it.
So, I'd like to upgrade ipsilon01/02 to this debugging sssd build and
wait for the problem to re-occur and get them the info they hopefully
need to fix it.
This build just has a small debugging patch on top of the existing
fedora 34 build we are using now. We should be able to dnf distro-sync
anytime to get back to the stock one.
Can I get +1s to do this? :)

Can we update fedora-repo-zdicts on the branched and rawhide
composers?
by Jonathan Dieter
Since branching, I've put out a new version of fedora-repo-zdicts with
dictionaries for F35 and updated dictionaries for Rawhide. This
version (2108.1) is now available in all active Fedora/EPEL branches, I
think.
Can we update fedora-repo-zdicts on the branched and rawhide composers
so they get the latest dictionaries when creating the repodata? Or do
we need to wait until the beta freeze ends?
Thanks,
Jonathan

Freeze Break Request: OSBS docker
by Kevin Fenzi
Some of you may be aware of:
https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/issue/10145
TLDR: some new syscalls in f35+ make docker in our OSBS cluster fail
some new syscalls. This means we have had no new f35/rawhide based OSBS
containers built.
Note that the base and minimal base are built a different way in
rawhide/branched composes, so we have those, we just don't have any OSBS
builds. Also it's not affecting flatpak's (yet) because those are built
against f34 currently.
Internally, Red Hat has a docker package that disables seccomp for
docker build. Docker has no option for this without patching.
OpenShift 3.11 (and also thus OSBS) default to seccomp off, but they
can't do that at build time currently.
So, I would like to:
* Make sure it's ok for us to use that internal docker build.
(If it's not I guess we get to hack up that seccomp disable patch
ourselves).
* Apply it on our OSBS nodes.
Our aarch64 nodes are fedora 33, and I don't think they are affected by
this, but I am not sure (if someone seeing this could make sure one way
or another that would be great, I will also ask in the bug).
Anyhow, can I get +1's to update docker and adjust it's startup unit to
run builds with no seccomp to work around this issue?

Fedora Badges status
by Ryan Lerch
Just wondering if there is anyone around here that is actively (or
semi-actively) maintaining the Fedora Badges system(s).
The reason for this query is that we are currently working on the
datanommer / datagrepper transition to Fedora Messaging, and Fedora
Badges is revealing itself to be a special side-case.
The majority of applications use the datagrepper JSON API to interact
with the store of messages that datanommer stuffs into its database.
However, badges appears to have direct access to the datanommer DB
using the datanommer.models module (which we use in datagrepper too,
obviously) Note too that FMN also hase this direct access rather than
using datanommer
This in of itself doesnt seem to be a huge issue to the migration, as
the grep method of datanommer.models has not changed its API (which is
all these apps use to get data with), so in theory, we just need to
update datanommer.models on these applications and everything should
be hunky-dory.
However, neither of these applications are running currently on
staging, so there is nowhere fo us to test this out.
Long story long, just wondering if anyone is aware of any activeish
maintainers of these items so we can discuss further.
cheers,
ryanlerch
