Planned Outage - s390x builders - 2021-06-04 22:00 UTC
by Kevin Fenzi
Planned Outage - s390x builders - 2021-06-04 22:00 UTC
There will be an outage starting at 2021-06-04 22:00 UTC,
which will last approximately 36 hours.
To convert UTC to your local time, take a look at
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/UTCHowto
or run:
date -d '2021-06-04 22:00UTC'
Reason for outage:
The facility hosting the fedora s390x builders has a site wide power outage scheduled for June 4th to June 6th. We will be powering off these builders at 22UTC on 2021-06-04. It's likely that they will be back sometime late in the day of 2021-06-05, but it could be they are not back until 2021-06-06. During this time any builds that build against s390x will stall in 'free' state until the builders are back. No rawhide composes will be done in the outage window.
Affected Services:
koji builds needing to build on s390x will queue up and wait for the builders to return.

Noggin 1.2.0 released and deployed
by Aurelien Bompard
Hey folks!
I have released and deployed Noggin 1.2.0 to production a few minutes ago.
Here are the release notes:
Features
- Display the version in the page footer (#592).
- Allow sponsors to resign from their position in the group (#599).
- Disallow login and register with mixed-case usernames (#594).
- Add information in the validation email (#629).
Bug Fixes
- Lowercase the username in Forgot Password Ask controller (#573).
- Skipped autocomplete in OTP fields (#593).
Many thanks to the contributors of bug reports, pull requests, and pull
request reviews for this release:
- Josseline Perdomo
- Yaron Shahrabani
Sysadmins will be happy about the lowercase bugfix that a few users have
hit while trying to reset their passwords. The validation email also
contains new info to request a new token in case it has expired (because of
greylisting, or of the
let-me-try-to-do-this-long-task-in-the-two-minutes-the-email-will-take-to-arrive
syndrome).
Cheers!

Copr builders upgraded to Fedora 34
by Pavel Raiskup
Hello,
I'm glad I can announce that Fedora Copr builders are now on Fedora 34.
There are no known problems at this moment, as all our integration
testing passed.
At the same time we finally deployed a new set of x86_64 hyperviors in
Fedora lab, where we start about 60 builders at this moment (and the quota
should increase by another 60 VMs during the next week or two).
The lab we host the new VMs in doesn't have enough public IPv4 addresses
so we control builds there over IPv6 (and builds are done over NATed
ipv4).
This is a new setup and bugs are not unexpected; so please report them
as always: https://pagure.io/copr/copr/issues
Happy building!

FASJSON 1.1.0 released and deployed
by Aurelien Bompard
Hey folks!
I have released and deployed FASJSON 1.1.0 to production a few minutes ago.
It's a small release, as you can see. I've also rebased the Openshift image
on F34 (it was on F32).
*Features:*
- Field mask support: request more or less object attributes with a HTTP
header (#144 <https://github.com/fedora-infra/fasjson/issues/144>). See
below for an example.
- Expose users’ SSH keys (#186
<https://github.com/fedora-infra/fasjson/issues/186>).
*Bug Fixes:*
- Display indirect groups as well (#188
<https://github.com/fedora-infra/fasjson/issues/188>). Users' group list
will now have the fedora-contributor and fedorabugs groups that were not
there before.
If you were querying FASJSON in a loop before, chances are that you can
make use of the field mask feature now and just make one request. For
example, Fabian's aliases generation script used to query the members of
group X which would only give him the usernames, and then query each user
of the group to get their email address. He can now make only one query and
add the HTTP header X-Fields set to "{username, emails}", and FASJSON will
return the emails as part of the initial query. Curl example:
curl --negotiate -u :
https://fasjson.fedoraproject.org/v1/groups/sysadmin-noc/members/ -H
"X-Fields: {username,emails}"
That's all, if you have questions feel free to contact me.

informal video meeting for infrastructure contributors
by Kevin Fenzi
At the last few infrastructure meetings (as well as in the past some)
the idea was floated of doing a informal video meeting where
contributors could put faces and voices to names and introduce
themselves.
What would folks think of doing this after the infrastructure meeting
this thursday? So, 17-17:30UTC? We could fire up a jitsi meeting, with
link to be given out at the end of the infrastructure meeting. :)
Thoughts?
