Access to various bits of Fedora infra over long distance
by Peter Robinson
Hi All,
Just thought I'd give some feedback after using Fedora infra over a
long distance from the data centre.
I'm on the NBN Sky muster satellite [1] from Aus (it's dual stack
v4/v6 for reference too). Most services are quite usable (koji/wiki is
fine) but there are some that just don't load at all. bodhi/pkgdb just
eventually time out, pagure is variable, sometimes is loads some times
not at all, sometimes I get somewhere in between.
Also I've found that when not on the Telstra network (incumbent telso)
that you often don't get mirrors at all so adding &country=global to
the metalink is critical if you actually want to be able to get
packages/updates at all.
If you want me to do any other testing let me know. Just thought I'd
give some feedback from a contributor PoV on the other side of the
world from the core infra.

CI/CD for web publishing
by Brian Exelbierd
Hey,
I am working on a project to publish some data regularly from the budget
repo in Pagure. Do we have an existing example I can use as a template
for re-publishing a site by running a publishing tool and then
depositing html somewhere everytime there is a commit?
Also, do we have infrastructure for testing PRs that I can hook into?
Thank you.
regards.

The Future of Ask Fedora (potentially: hosted by upstream)
by Matthew Miller
Ask Fedora is one of our primary user-facing support resources. It's
reasonably successful, with over 18,000 questions, with almost 80% of
those having at least some answer. It has a small but active and
passionate community.
On the other hand, I've heard from the infrastructure team that it's
taking an increasing amount of time just to keep the service running,
and making improvements is out of the question. We're having trouble
keeping up with things like keeping the software on the recent version,
let alone advancing new ideas.
Since this is such an important thing for users, I think we need an
improvement. I asked the community what to do
<https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/question/95681/ask-fedora-is-it-working-...>
and the top-voted response is from the upstream author, who has offered
to host the site for $250/month, including 6 hours of development time.
Assuming we can make the money work out, what do you think about this?
