update puppet to 2.6.6. from epel-test on a handful of boxes
by Seth Vidal
Boxes that were installed AFTER the puppet migration did not get the
latest puppet - so they have not been sending reports.
so I need to run:
func-command --host=db05.phx2.fedoraproject.org \
--host=memcached03.phx2.fedoraproject.org \
--host=ns04.phx2.fedoraproject.org \
--host=secondary02.phx2.fedoraproject.org \
"yum --enablerepo=epel-test -y update puppet"
to be fair - I actually already ran it - I just need two +1's.
sorry.

FedoraProject.org admin,
There is a lame delegation set for your name server
(ns2.fedoraproject.org) on your upstream DNS chain.
Searching for NameServers or SOA records from the following DNS
servers, is showing your nameserver ns2.fedoraproject.org as
152.46.7.225. This is causing intermittent names resolution problems
for servers in the fedoraproject.org DNS domain.

Upcoming Changes to Fedora DNS
by Stephen John Smoogen
In order to meet better redundancy, we are looking at adding more DNS
servers to our nameservices
Currently most fedora DNS zones are served by 2 seperate dns servers.
For best practices we would like to increase this pool to 3 servers:
* IPv4
* 209.132.181.17
* 85.236.55.10
* 152.19.134.139
* 64.34.184.179
* IPv6
* 2001:4178:0002:1269:dead:beef:cafe:fed5
* 2610:0028:3090:3001:dead:beef:cafe:fed2 # ns2 eventual address
What needs to be done currently:
1. ns04 in PHX2 needs to be allowed through the firewall.
2. ns02 in Ibiblio needs new ipv6 space.
3. ns05 in internetx01 needs to be added to network servers.
4. once above done ns's need to be added to all zones.
5. ns1 needs to be rebuild as ns01 and changed in DNS.
The following registrar zones will need to be updated:
389tcp.org
fedora.com.my
fedora.my
fedora.pt
fedora.sk
fedora.us
fedoracommunity.org
fedorahosted.org
fedoralinux.com
fedoralinux.net
fedoralinux.org
fedorapeople.org
fedoraproject.com
fedoraproject.com.my
fedoraproject.net
fedoraproject.org
fedoraproject.org.uk
fedoraproject.sk
fedoraproject.su
fpaste.org
k12linux.org
nspluginwrapper.org
port389.org

Introduction
by Amelia Nilsson
Hi!
I'm new on this list since yesterday and thought I should introduce
myself. I'm Amelia, live in Sweden and working as a UNIX/Linux
consultant.
I'm trying to figure out if there's some place in the Fedora Project for
me where I can contribute. Since I work with systems administration I
thought I'd check out the Infrastructure team. I'll be hanging around
for a while to see if I could provide anything useful, and of course to
get to know some of you I hope.
You'll find more about me on my website http://www.linuxchick.se and I'm
also available on IRC (FreeNode and IRCnet with nick amelia) if anyone
has any questions or just wants to chat for a while.
Best regards,
Amelia Nilsson
