Hey all, I'll be in Phoenix on July 10th and 11th. I'll be installing two new application servers and, at last, db3! I'll be sending some outage notifications though I'm not expecting any longer outage in the next couple of days, 10-20 minutes tops. I'll also probably be out most of monday recovering, its a vacation day for me but I'll be around a bit. -Mike

Since the plan is to move koji to db3 within the week I'd like to hold off on this. FAS instance on publictest10?

Hi, I've been trying to use the FAS instance on publictest10, and it's acting very strangely. Sooooo. We've been doing puppet wrong. Not really wrong but there's a better way now using modules. more info: http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/PuppetModules Long story short, I (and probably kanarip if I can sucker him into it :) will start converting some stuff that we've got to the more module format. Some benefits: * Easier to share with others * Much better organization / easier to find stuff * The standard actually involves writing a README file per module. Thats a good thing and can help explain some things better. Before we go making a bunch of changes I'm going to make sure to keep everyone in the loop with whats going on. One thing I did want to discuss is that puppet does have some native support for git now and people are using it. I have to say I'm on the fence about it. Fedora as an organization is moving more to git, the websites team already uses it. What are the thoughts on this list? -Mike

Hi Everyone, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Klaus Schreyack. I'm 40 years old and I'm a Systems Administrator who works for a financial services company in Los Angeles. I've been working seriously with Linux since 2004. I have my RHCT for v5, an MCSE 2003 Certificate, and I'm working towards my RHCE. Over the last two years my interest has focused on Open Source solutions, from which I seem to derive the most satisfaction. I am skilled with the common tcp applications and work with CentOS and RHEL, supporting 70+ servers. I'm also familiar with GWOS, having set it up for my company a few weeks ago. After reviewing the FIG's I have an interest in sysadmin-hosted and sysadmin-noc, but I'm willing to help out anywhere I can. Well, that's it. Greetings to all, Its Reggie Buckner. I had some personal issues and was away for a while, but now I am back and ready to get involved. To recap my interests lie in system administration, telecom/network infrastructure ( Ethernet, WAN links, Servers, Load Balancers (Radware , F5), and scripting (BASH, Korn working on PERL and Python). I am willing to sign a contibutors agreement and get a account. I dont quite understand the ticketing system but willing to learn.
