What can we do about that? ... any suggestions?
I personally feel that educating the students through conferences and meetings can be a good start. We can even approach the HoD with requests for hands-on sessions, where development in Fedora will be taught.
What do u say guys?
Santanu Sinha (from iLUG-Cal and other places) has been trying to do this at CU for a while. Debarshi participated in a GCC workshop as well, so yes, this is something that needs to begin. But, in a structured manner, getting the content to be delivered done up first and then approaching the HoDs and friends at right places to see what can be done.

Atleast Rajabazar Science college's B.Tech course offered by the Electronics & Radiophysics department has something called "UNIX system administration", while many other colleges have one subject which is somehow related to Unix. Don't these help in increasing familiarity with the system?
