Sir,
I am an open source enthusiast, a Fedora fan and a FedoraProject
contributor living in Hyderabad, India. I usually blog about Fedora, Linux and other open source projects on my blog located at http://fedora.co.in/ . I requested for the permission regarding Fedora logo usage from FedoraProject (logo@fedoraproject.org , http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Logo ) and they approved it.
Still I want to confirm it from Red Hat Inc. whether I am entitled
to use Fedora Logo on my web-blog?
Awaiting for your response.
Thank you, Kulbir Saini,
Hi Kulbir,
The permission you received is all you need. You may use the Fedora logo on your site. However, if could correct the site notice as follows:
"Fedora, the Fedora logo, Fedora Project and Red Hat are trademarks of Red Hat, Inc. The Fedora logo is used by permission."
1. Correct "the Fedora logo" so that "logo" is not capitalized 2. Correct "Fedora Project" to be two words, not one 3. Add the final sentence, "The Fedora logo is used by permission."
This is satisfactory and you can continue using the logo on your site. We are working on writing clearer trademark guidelines to make usage like this easier.

No one challenges you about whether you have really taken permission for using logo or not. We believe you.
I/We seem to be speaking latin and you don't understand a word. DOMAIN is our concern and unfortunately it is your call as you own it.

No, it should not. Till now you were trying to point out your disclaimers about Red Hat, Fedora, etc. and now you are showing off your permission to use the logo.
Stop trying to confuse us.
The issue is your domain name: fedora.co.in, which implies "a commercial entity named Fedora in India". Your disclaimers and permission to use the logo does not change this single fact, unless you change the domain. Ofcourse there are worse people [1] but there are many noble souls too. eg., http://www.fedora-fr.org/ is driven by the French community is not held personally by anyone.
It is upto you to decide which category you want to belong to. Whatever you choose, be honest about and don't be equivocal about it.
