I already tried installing deb to rpm , but i found some dependency errors ,
[root@localhost Desktop]# rpm -ivh deb-1.10.27-3.i586.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
perl = 5.8.6 is needed by deb-1.10.27-3.i586
update-alternatives is needed by deb-1.10.27-3.i586
perl-5.10.1 is available for fedora right now. perl = 5.8.6 is a hard
version dependency and fedora latest releases are far ahead.
If update-alternative is a command for maintaining symbolic links,
then chkconfig provides it and is present in fedora repositories.
If you really want to trust on this deb package (and rpm which you
made from it) and want to try it out. Then I would also suggest to go
ahead one more step and try with latest perl and update-alternative
from chkconfig package once and share with whether it worked for
you. For installing latest perl and chkconfig yum or packagekit are
your friends. For trying it out with perl 5.10.1 --nodeps with rpm is
one way to install and there are other ways.
I take no responsibility for consequences if you are trying out my
suggestion ;) and in process mess up your system.
Note: It would be great if you can send text messages to list.
