hi,
It is an excellent thought.. However we will have to talk this over with the HOD of the department.. We are currently on vacation and it might not be easy to communicate with him now.. I will give it a try though.. Btw this will be the first mirror we'll aid in putting up a mirror so youll have to describe and explain the entire process.. So that the mirror is put up and we learn something new.. :-)
Currently im going to google and see what i can learn from there..
regards,
Ankur

Hi,
As you all three are from Manipal and as we came to know that you have a number of Fedora users, What is the possibility to establish a Fedora mirror (may be internal, may be external) at your institute?
If your Institute has low bandwidth, you may go for an internal mirror which won't need much bandwidth. If your Institute has moderate bandwidth, you may even go public.
If you give this idea a thought (even an internal one), and take up with your administration, it will be much beneficial for Fedora as we have shortage of mirrors in India.
And I promise to extend all help possible.
Thanks.
