Now just a stupid OT question: what is the 'PAE' thing in my
'uname -r':
2.6.29.1-85.fc11.i686.PAE
Physical Address Extension. It allows the OS to use more than 4GB of
memory on 32bit machine, although each process is still restricted to
4GB only. For details:
