Subject: Planning for Fedora monthly meetup at Bangalore
To: fedora-ambassadors-list(a)redhat.com, fedora-india(a)redhat.com
Hi all,
We had a small meetup of Fedora enthusiasts at Red Hat's office in
Bangalore on May 31, 2014 (last Saturday of May). We want to continue
the same streak, that is, a Fedora meetup in Bangalore, every last
Saturday of the month.
So, the next meetup is going to happen on June 28, 2014 at Red Hat, Bangalore.
Venue:
RED HAT INDIA PVT LTD.
11TH FLOOR, TOWER-D
IBC KNOWLEDGE PARK
#4/1 BANNERGHATTA ROAD
NEAR DAIRY CIRCLE
BANGALORE – 560 029
So, do we have enough time to spread the word, if the Fedora Activity
Day is to happen this Saturday ? Or should we propose it for the July slot ?
However, from now on, we have decided that it will be less
discussions
and more contributions, something like a Fedora Activity Day. For a
start, we plan to pick up tasks from
https://fedoraproject.org/easyfix/ and submit our work at the end of
the day.
We will posting about the event on social media and spreading the word
in the surrounding colleges, so that someone interested may join too.
This is where we need the help of all social-media savvy folks on this list.
We are not biased about the distro anyone uses. Our primary focus is
to create a hub, an environment for doing upstream contributions.
We will still encourage folks to work on Fedora Infrastructure stuff,
but upstream project specific contributions are valuable to Fedora too.
So we can have a mix of all.
Contributions is not just about development, but includes testing,
documentation, and packaging.
We could also through in a few sessions/workshops on topics of interest
like packaging for example.
How does this sound, folks?
Please share your valuable feedback.
Regards,
