Regarding server management
by Shambo Bose
Hi,
I recently got a offer from a local ISP . They want me to build and maintain
a low cost linux server which will manage and distribute bandwidth as per
client package or scheme. Moreover it will keep details about bandwidth used
by clients, online time, download and upload details etc. The ISP is using a
8mbps connection as input.
How can I accomplish this job? Currently I am trying Squid to distribute
the bandwidth. But I dont want to use a proxy server.
I need some valuable help as this is my first linux server management job.
Please help me.
Yours sincerely
Shambo Bose.

I keep getting this when i run yum commands:
ftp://fedora.glug-nith.org/linux/development/i386/os/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (-2, 'Name or service not known')>
Trying other mirror.
Debarshi, is this an error on the mirror end? Or am I screwing up?

Need to have a proxy server in India

Hi All,
This mail is specially for people/sites who already host a fedora mirror.
The fedora infrastructure team is looking for people/sites who can
volunteer to host a fedora proxy server at their site.
The Fedora Infrastructure consists of 4 proxy servers, out of that 3 are
in US and 1 in Germany.
With no proxy server in APAC, we were wondering is someone could
volunteer for one.
If any one is interested please contact me.
Thanks a lot.

Regarding Compiz Fusion
by Shambo Bose
Hi,
I think if possible Compiz Fusion with Emerald theme manager should be added
to the fedora repository and it should be made available out of the box for
a better desktop user experience.
Moreover, if possible the fedora installer can be modified to present two
install option to the user :
1. Desktop Install.
2. Server Install.
Thanks.

Shambo

Let me introduce myself to you: I am Krishna located in Bangalore. I work as
a electrical engineer. I recently purchased a laptop for learning purposes.
I intend to use Linux to use some free software for electrical design and
analysis. I learned from the net that fedora can also be run directly from
the CD (Live CD). Since I do not have enough disk space, I thought of
getting myself a live CD. But since my net connection is too slow, I can't
download the ISO image.
I need a Fedora LiveCD. I am located at Airport Road in Bangalore. Can you
please help me out? I can come to the place where you distribute the copies.
Thanks,
Krishna
