Hi, I thought this Change was exciting to see, even if it has some room
to improve as pointed out earlier in the thread.

An alternative to `pavucontrol` is something we discussed in the i3wm
SIG. Currently we find it to be the most intuitive graphical interface
available for managing audio devices and streams.
One thing I would like to see (without having looked very hard yet) is
to know what the migration impact is for end-users moving from
PulseAudio controller tools and interfaces to PipeWire.

Me too! I know I would probably try this out on my personal Workstation
i
f I had some good docs on how to migrate it. Especially with some kind
of estimate of time needed to complete, so I can measure how long before
I will need a functioning audio stack to jump into a video call where
people need to hear/see me. ;)

Hi all,
The i3 SIG met briefly in IRC/Telegram today. We are requesting final
reviews and comments on the Fedora 34 Change Proposal before we submit
it to the Fedora Program Manager:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/i3/SpinChangeProposal_Draft
SIG members, please make any edits directly to the page. We also welcome
feedback and suggestions here on the mailing list, if you have thoughts.
We plan to submit by E.O.D. on Tuesday, 24 November 2020. Once we
submit, this will announce the Change to the wider Fedora Community on
devel-announce(a)lists.fp.o and feature in Ben Cotton's weekly Community
Blog report. There will be more visibility into the SIG's work after we
submit this Change.
Once we submit, in our next meeting, I propose we draft a "release
checklist" to help document the steps we are taking in order to build
and release the i3 Spin for the first time.
Until then… please review the F34 Change proposal and let us know if you
have feedback or suggestions:
