--- Comment #37 from Mike FABIAN <mfabian(a)redhat.com> ---
There is another option which is not yet disabled for rusle
but does not make any sense for rusle. It is the
option which toggles between "Phrase mode" and "Single char mode"
(short cut Ctrl-;). Fortunately, for rusle this option
makes no differenc whatsoever because rusle only has single characters
as results.
This option is for input methods where some input key sequence result
in huge numbers of candidate matches. For example some Chinese input methods
give long lists of matches for the same input sequence and some of these
matches are not single characters but longer strings. If one wants to
type a specific single Chinese character, this character might be difficult
to find in the candidate list because other matches which are longer strings
are higher up in the candidate list because their statistical probability is
higher. So when one wants to input a certain single character, it might be
easier to temporarily switch to "Single character mode".
But of course this makes no sense for rusle.
I am also thinking about disabling that option for input methods where it
makes no sense. At least it doesn't hurt rusle, but there is
a superfluous entry in menu which opens when you click in the
input method indicator in the Gnome panel.
