Hi folks!
LordsAWar! version 0.3.0 has been released with the following changes:
* added new scenario Duel Of The Gods. * added new items to burn bridges, charm monsters in ruins, call for angels, send disease to a city, banish worms, raise defenders, and persuade neutral city. * added program to upgrade old versions of lordsawar saved games. * added program to import maps from Warlords 2. * audited battle probabilities in comparison with Warlords 2. * scenario editor can now export the map to a PNG file. * added fight order editor to the scenario editor. * updated to gtkmm version 3. * now using unicode everywhere. migrated from std::string to glib::ustring. * migrated from libtar to libarchive.
Fixed various gameplay bugs:
* heroes were never showing up as women. * fixed bug where clicking the smallmap repeatedly and quickly would crash the game. * fixed bug in joining stacks in the scenario editor. * fixed many bugs in network play, thanks to Roger R.
Anyway it's definitely time for a new package. I've compiled and tested it on Fedora 22 so it should go pretty easy for you. I think Bruno packaged it last time, but I'm not sure if he's still involved or not.
The tarball is located here: http://download-mirror.savannah.gnu.org/releases/lordsawar/lordsawar-0.3.0.t...
Anyway, this is an exciting new version, so thanks for helping people play LordsAWar!
Thanks,
Ben

Thanks for letting us know!
Bruno is still listed as the owner, and he's still quite active as I recall.
Usually the best thing to do in this instance is to file a ticket so it doesn't get lost on a mailing list. However, we also have a nice system at release-monitoring.org which will do this all automatically (for multiple distributions, should they choose to subscribe). I went ahead and added your package there, and turned on Fedora's automatic ticket filing and test builds. That means that if you choose to update in the future we'll be automatically notified. (As long as a new tarball appears in the same download location, of course.)

I will be updating the package soon. I also entered a bug for the request if people want to track progress.

I'll probably backport this to f21 and f22. Given that a build has been tested I'm expecting the update to go smoothly.

Thanks Bruno!
It looks like gstreamermm is going to be a dependency problem for me in the near future. Debian is forcing a move to version 1.0 in their next release cycle, and Fedora is back on 0.10 and I can't seem to find any information about moving to 1.0.
As upstream I'm not keen on supporting two versions of the same library. Anyway, I wonder what the other users of gstreamermm on Fedora are going to do. They probably see this coming too.
Just some thoughts as I get feedback from other distros,
Ben

I don't think there is any. Just do what you need to do and Fedora will adapt. As far as I can tell, nothing in Fedora requires gstreamermm besides subtitleeditor anyway, and we can always make a compat package if it can't be ported.

I have it building for rawhide, but the game hangs (cpu bound with both the game and some kworker threads dividing cpu) when I start a local map. Getting that figured out might take me a while.
